Toquinho fought with a broken foot against Hector Lombard

The Brazilian Rousimar Toquinho was knocked out by Hector Lombard at UFC on FX 6, an event held last Friday, in Australia. However, the athlete from Minas Gerais was not in his best condition at the end of the fight.

In an official statement released this Monday, Toquinho's press office revealed that the fighter suffered a fracture in his right foot during the fight.

PUBLICITY:

“During the fight my kick was connecting. But on my fourth kick I hit Lombard's shin right below his knee. At the time I heard a click and knew there had been a problem. From that moment on, my foot felt increasingly numb and I had no strength to even walk around the Octagon. It was a very complicated situation. I already went through something similar in the fight against Jeremy Horn when I broke my hand during the fight.”

In fact, he fractured his foot at the beginning of the fight, which takes away a lot of the fighter's mobility. But I believe that Toquinho had no weapons to combat Lombard, other than the heel hook (knee).

In my opinion, Toquinho could fight for years in the UFC, but he doesn't look like he's going to fight for the belt. He's a guy with a predictable, limited game, in addition to being small for the category.
