After being released by the UFC, Anderson Silva admits he can continue fighting: 'I'm capable of continuing'

MMA legend, 45-year-old Brazilian, had announced his retirement at the end of October, after his defeat to Uriah Hall

One of the biggest names in the history of MMA, Anderson Silva appears to have reversed his decision to retire. Less than a month after hanging up his gloves, the Brazilian took to social media to suggest that he could continue his career. Recently, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) was released from his UFC contract.

“I love and have always loved what I do. Winning or losing is part of it. It has absolutely nothing to do with age. I made technical mistakes (in the last fight) and lost”, wrote 'Spider', on his Instagram account.

Following the publication, the 45-year-old athlete suggested that the setback for Uriah Hall may not have declared the end of his career. Professional in mixed martial arts since 1997, the São Paulo native may have more performances over the years.

“I haven’t lost the will and desire to continue doing what I love. I still have a warrior's spirit and, in addition to this flame in my heart that motivates me, I am completely convinced that I am capable of continuing to compete in MMA. (…) Stay tuned”, concluded the legend.

In his last match, which marked his farewell to Ultimate, Anderson ended up defeated by knockout in the fourth round. Throughout his career, the Brazilian has now made 46 appearances, with 34 wins, 11 losses and one unsuccessful fight.

With UFC gloves, 'Spider' had one of the greatest reigns in the organization's history. The athlete was middleweight champion between 2006 and 2013.
