A piece of news has caused confusion in the world of MMA this Thursday (19). According to Jorge 'Joinha' Guimarães, businessman from Anderson Silva, the veteran terminated his contract with the UFC and would be free to sign a contract with another company. The information, initially released by 'MMA fighting', ended up being immediately challenged by the president of Ultimate.

In an interview with 'TMZ Sports', the 'big boss' denied any end of ties with Anderson, 45 years old. According to the agent, 'Spider' continues with his current contract and has retired from MMA.

In his last performance, at the end of October, Anderson ended up being heavily defeated by Uriah Hall, in what was promoted as the UFC's farewell fight. Even with one more confrontation in the current agreement, Dana continued to state that the clash against the Jamaican would seal the legend's trajectory in Ultimate.

In conversation with 'Combate', 'Joinha' assured that the termination is real. The agreement, however, is verbal at first.

The news puts a question mark on Anderson's retirement. One day after being beaten by Hall, the Brazilian used social media to confirm that he would leave the sport. If he is willing to end his relationship with Ultimate, the action suggests that the athlete may return to MMA.
