Gustafsson reveals fear of losing to Shogun, but says he deserves a title shot

The Swede  Alexander Gustafson He achieved the biggest victory of his career last Saturday night (08), when in a great performance he defeated former champion Shogun and placed himself as the next challenger for the organization's light heavyweight belt. However, the 25-year-old fighter revealed at the press conference after the show that he felt afraid of losing the duel at the beginning of the first round, when the Brazilian got a kneebar in the ground fight.

“I was afraid of losing right at the beginning of the fight, when he managed to take me down, but luckily I managed to get back in time”, declared the Swede during the post-event press conference.

Despite still generating distrust due to his performances, Gustafsson said he believes he deserves the chance to face the winner of the fight between Jon Jones e Chael Sonnen for the light heavyweight belt.
