“I want to congratulate my opponent, Glover Teixeira. He did what he needed to do. She is a beast and a very good guy. I learned a lot from that fight. I hope the UFC gives him a chance at the title, he deserves it”, wrote Thiago, on his 'Instagram' account.

When the fight between Marreta and Glover was confirmed by Ultimate, the promise was that the winner would fight for the title against the current champion of the category. However, in recent weeks, the situation appears to have changed.

Recently, the organization's president, Dana White, confirmed his interest in promoting a superfight between the light heavyweight title holder, Jan Blachowicz, and the middleweight leader (up to 83,9kg.), Israel adesanya. The news came like a shower of cold water to Brazilians.

After UFC Las Vegas 13, Teixeira, who recently turned 41, used his recent record to his advantage to try to make the company's management change their opinion. The Minas Gerais native has been unbeaten for five fights.

After the show, Dana promised to analyze Glover's request. On that occasion, in conversation with 'ESPN', the president said he was impressed with the performance of the Minas Gerais native, who submitted his rival in the third round.
