The dominance of Amanda nunes e Valentina Shevchenko is such a big deal in their respective categories that many point out that the pair would only be surprised if they faced each other. Despite the combat record being 2-0 for the Brazilian, the MMA community was in doubt about the result of the second fight, held in 2017, and it bothers the flyweight champion (56,7kg) to this day.
In an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie, Valentina expressed her desire to meet Amanda for the third time in the octagon, stated that she won the second and controversial confrontation and explained that a detail may have influenced the judges when making the decision.

“The trilogy would be logical. She has passed her opponents very easily and, in the future, we can fight again. I won the second fight! This fight will be champion against champion and the judges will have a different view. When we faced each other, it made the difference for Amanda. The only advantage she had was her weight. Amanda fell on top of me and that influenced the judges' decision. The trilogy is fair”, said Valentina
Despite his desire to reduce his losses, 'Bullet' assured that his focus is on defending the flyweight belt and revealed that he would not like to fight without the presence of the public.
“Honestly, I don’t know when we can fight. I'm focused on flyweights and being dominant. This is what I see for my future. If the trilogy happens, I would definitely like to have the fans around me, the audience there and not fight in an empty arena”, he concluded.
It is worth remembering that the only defeats of Valentina Shevchenko, in the UFC, were precisely to Amanda nunes., champion of bantamweight (61,2kg) and featherweight (65,8kg). Before the new superfight becomes reality, the number one flyweight will put her belt on the line in front of Jennifer maia, UFC 255, which will be held on November 21st.
