Thiago Moisés beats Bobby Green on points in an even fight at UFC Las Vegas 12

Brazilian and North American put on a show in the confrontation that opened the main card of the show

Responsible for opening the main card of the UFC Las Vegas 12, held this Saturday (31), in the United States, Thiago Moses e Bobby Green promoted one of the best clashes of the event. In a confrontation marked by aggression, the Brazilian left the octagon with a unanimous decision victory by the judges.

A lightweight representative (up to 70,3kg), Thiago, who is known for his grappling qualities, accepted the stand-up against a dangerous opponent. With the result, the São Paulo native confirmed his good form and reached his second consecutive victory.

Although it was not an easy task for the Brazilian, Green ended up losing his 100% success rate in 2020. The North American arrived for the fourth time this year and had three victories.

The fight

Thiago took the initiative in the confrontation with a high kick, which stopped in the American's guard. The Brazilian continued to be more aggressive, betting on kicks to his opponent's body. With his guard down, Bobby was not intimidated and continued walking forward, trying to frame Moses. Close to the middle of the round, Thiago managed to get a good takedown on Green, but the American managed to reverse the position. Moisés managed to get up and the duel was once again fought standing up. In the center of the octagon, the Brazilian and his rival exchanged blows and kept the dispute very active. In the final minute, the fighters continued attacking and looking for the knockout. The round ended after a sequence of punches from Thiago.

In the second stage, the athletes returned with the same energy. Bobby tried to pressure the Brazilian with punches and kicks, but Thiago showed danger with his counterattacks. Just over a minute into the match, Green managed to take Moisés down, but the São Paulo native got up quickly. Thiago managed to return the takedown and risked a footlock. Green felt it, but managed to free himself and then get up. Trying to recover from the scare, Bobby started throwing hard punches at the Brazilian, who was showing signs of tiredness. Green provoked Thiago and tried to induce the São Paulo native to make a mistake. In the final seconds, Moisés connected with a powerful cross to the North American's head, but there was no more time.

With a balanced duel in the initial stages, the fighters needed to guarantee the result in the last round. Bobby continued to act with his guard down and tried to intimidate the Brazilian. Thiago, however, counterattacked with powerful blows. The combatants slowed down, but the dispute was still tense. Halfway through the round, Moisés tried a round kick, but the attack stopped in the North American's guard. With two minutes left in the duel, Bobby managed a takedown, but Moisés got up quickly. Thiago responded in kind and took the confrontation to the ground. Thiago looked for the back and attempted a submission. Green showed a lot of courage and I managed to get up. In the final seconds, the fighters began to engage in frank exchanges until the timer reached zero.

Promising in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg.), Bryce Mitchel has once again proven that he is a man to be watched by the organization. In the confrontation against André Fili, which represented the co-main fight of the event, Mitchel overcame his rival and left the octagon with a unanimous decision victory from the judges.

Current number 15 in the ranking of the group led by Alexander Volkanovsky, Bryce continues his journey towards the top of the category. The athlete now has 14 positive results in his career and doesn't know what it's like to lose in MMA.

Fili, who was trying to reach the elite of the category, was unable to achieve the second positive result. The athlete was coming off a victory over Charles Jourdain, in June.

Greg Hardy punishes Maurice Greene and wins by knockout

Former American football player, Greg hardy won another one in the UFC. Known for his aggressiveness, the heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) had no difficulty overcoming Maurice Greene on the main card and beat his opponent with a knockout in the second round.

The result meant that Hardy reached his second consecutive victory and fourth since his debut in Ultimate in 2019. This was the North American's second commitment in 2020.

Beaten by the giant this weekend, Greene ended up getting into trouble in the organization. Now, the athlete has three setbacks in the last five fights.
