Jon Jones There is not a moment of peace. If previously the former UFC light heavyweight (93kg) champion appeared in the news because of his intense rivalry with Israel adesanya, number one of the middleweights (83,9kg), now the target is Khabib Nurmagomedov, former lightweight king (70,3kg). After the Russian finishes Justin gaethje No. UFC 254 and then retire, the MMA community was divided and many argue that 'The Eagle' is the best fighter in MMA history.

Upon noticing the discussion, 'Bones', more active than ever on social media, used it again to defend his position as number one in the sport, minimized the Russian's CV when comparing it with his own and reported that the only one who can Matching his numbers is GSP, former welterweight (77,6kg) and middleweight champion.

“I'm talking to all the Khabib fans out there. I have fifteen world titles to his four and you guys are really talking about who is the best fighter of all time? Are you kidding me? 15×4! The only person who could possibly come back and challenge my record and what I did in the UFC is Georges St-Pierre. He would have to come back and win two title fights to match me and I haven't even retired yet. I'm 33 years old and have a whole new chapter yet to come. You guys are crazy, but I love you. I hope everyone has a great day. Fifteen world championships versus four. And all of you who are saying that Khabib is more dominant, he only started facing the best recently. Could you imagine me against number ten in the rankings?” Jones posted on his Instagram.

Not satisfied with the video, Jones also used Twitter to express himself and complain. For 'Bones', fans are confused and elevating the Russian's status because they like him and not because of his achievements.

“15 world titles, the numbers don’t lie. It was definitely a powerful moment, but my logic is clear. Khabib just won the fourth. The fact that they are discussing this shocks me. When I signed with the UFC, I was one of the youngest fighters on the roster, I became the youngest champion in the history of the sport and I only played three competitive fights. I understand that most people have never been number one in their community, state, let alone the world. My competitive nature does not allow me to stand by and watch someone ask to be considered the best. I sacrificed a lot. If I'm defeated by a man with only three title defenses, I don't know what to think anymore. More than 50% of my career were title fights! If we had a popularity contest, I would be happy to lose, but that has nothing to do with fame or being a good person. I dedicated my entire life to this game. Do people want me to sit back and let Khabib have his moment while I just sit back and watch my hard work be minimized? It's not fair to my family or the team of people who sacrificed to get me here. This is not envy. I really respect Khabib and the type of man he is, but being the best is something you have to achieve, it's not a given. Unfortunately, he only has four belts, no matter how much we all like him,” he concluded.
