UFC 154: St. Pierre and Condit define who is the welterweight champion

At the end of Saturday night, the Ultimate welterweight category will have just one champion. After a long wait, due to a serious knee injury, the champion Georges St Pierre returns to the octagon after 19 months to face the American Carlos Condit, owner of the interim belt, for unifying the category title. The duel will be the main attraction of UFC 154, an event that will be held in Montreal, Canada. Brazil will have two representatives in the fight program: Rodrigo Damm faces local athlete Antonio Carvalho, while Rafael dos Anjos will face Mark Bocek.

GSP vs. Condition
Georges St-Pierre has not competed in a fight since April 2011, when he won Jake Shields at UFC 129. Even though he has been away from the Octagon for a long time, the Canadian is still considered one of the organization's greatest fighters. Undefeated since 2007, GSP has won nine consecutive victories.

“I'm happy to be able to do what I like. The UFC took care of me like a king, and I don't know of any organization that takes as good care of its athletes as the UFC. I had the best doctors and surgeons at my disposal. I changed some things in my training, and I have never been as excited to fight as I am now,” said the Canadian.

If the return to competitions is with victory, it seems that St. Pierre will be the next opponent of Anderson Silva inside the octagon.

In its turn, Carlos Condit won the interim welterweight belt last February, against Nick Diaz. The triumph marked his fifth consecutive victory in Ultimate. Even considered an underdog, the North American hopes to ruin the plans for the duel between his rival and the Brazilian Anderson Silva

"I love Anderson Silva. He's going to see me fight and that's amazing. But I'm going to ruin the party and mess with the UFC's plans. If you want to do the super fight after I beat GSP, it’s up to you”, said Condit
