Demian Maia He has good morale in the UFC. After moving down to the welterweight category and achieving two quick victories, the black belt from São Paulo already has a new commitment scheduled within the organization, where a new triumph could put the Brazilian close to competing for the category's belt.
On Thursday night (15), the Ultimate organization confirmed the clash between Demian and North American Jon Fitch for UFC 156, an event that takes place on February 2, in Las Vegas.
Coincidentally, Fitch and Demian last fought on the same night. In the third edition of UFC Rio, held in October, the North American beat the Brazilian Erick silva, while Demian submitted Rick Story. The winner of the fight will once and for all enter the race for the welterweight belt, which will be on the line this Saturday (17), at UFC 154, in the match between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit.
The main fight of UFC 156 will be hosted by another Brazilian athlete. José Aldo will defend his reign in the featherweight division before Frankie Edgar.
