Anderson denies challenge to St. Pierre and reveals that he will only return to the Octagon at the end of 2013

The long-awaited duel between the Canadian Georges St Pierre, UFC welterweight champion, and Anderson Silva, owner of the middleweight belt, shouldn't happen anytime soon. Despite the organization's president, Dana White, revealing that the Brazilian could step into the octagon next Saturday (17), when UFC 154 takes place, and challenge GSP (remember here), Spider made a point of denying the possibility of stating that he will only return to the Octagon at the end of 2013.

“I'm on vacation from the fight. I think I won't be back until the end of next year. I have my personal projects underway. Tomorrow I'm going to Los Angeles to see how my gym is progressing, which we are setting up there”, revealed Anderson, during his sponsor's event in Rio de Janeiro.

Anderson had two fights in 2012, with victories over Chael Sonnen, defending the middleweight belt in a long-awaited rematch saved the UFC Rio 3 card – after the injury to José Aldo – and moved up to light heavyweight to face the North American Stephan bonnar. If his return is confirmed only at the end of next year, it will be the first time that the champion will only fight one fight in a year.

“I think it's a good time for me to get my life in order, especially because this thing of always being worried and having work, I end up leaving my personal life aside. I have my projects, my personal plans and I will continue to move forward with them”, she explains.

“I'm going to Los Angeles and then I'm going to Canada for the St. Pierre fight, and then I'm there to record a film, a feature film that Lyoto and I will participate in. It’s an action film”, he says. “It’s not my characteristic to go up and challenge anyone. I don't think that will happen. I don’t think so, I’m sure (laughs)”, concluded Anderson.
