Now it's official! Vitor belfort returns to the Octagon to face the Englishman Michael Bisping, January 19th, with no defined location in Brazilian lands yet. The duel between Belfort and Bisping had already been announced last week, however, “Fenômeno” denied the rumor, which ended up being confirmed a few days later.
Just like in 2012, Brazil will open the organization's 2013 calendar in a year that promises to be very busy for Brazilian fans.
“As we had already anticipated, 2013 will be a very busy year for Brazilian fans. We are very happy with this event on January 19th, which, just like we did in 2012, opens the UFC's calendar for the year", said Marshall Zelaznik, director of international development at UFC, and then explained the issue of the city's announcement: "We are missing some details to close the city. We hope to announce it in the coming weeks.”
In addition to Belfort and Bisping, the show has other confirmed clashes: Daniel sarafian, recovered from an injury that took him out of the program's final, faces C.B. Dollaway, Geoffrey Pepey, featherweight finalist, faces green and yellow against Miltinho Vieira; It is Thiago Bodão measures forces against Michael Kuiper.
Other athletes confirmed on the show are: Edson Barboza, Thiago tavares, Diego Nunes, Gabriel Napao, Wagner Caldeirão, Ronny Markes, Francisco Masaranduba and Iuri Marajó
