After losing Michael chandler, Bellator suffered another loss of weight in its squad. Dudu Dantas, former bantamweight champion (61,2kg) did not renew and does not intend to sign a new commitment with the organization, despite his good track record in the company, because he prefers to test the market and study the proposals. To the North American website MMA fighting, the Brazilian informed that he was taken by surprise with the end of his contract and was approached to sign a new one, but he was not willing to stay in prison for so long. “I fought in June and planned to fight again in November or December, but I found out that my contract had come to an end. If I re-signed with Bellator, it would be for another two years. I'm 31 years old and I decided to study other proposals. It's time to reach for something bigger, fly higher and see what the future holds for me. There is only one way, and that is the UFC. That's what would make my heart beat faster, work harder than ever and wake up early to train two or three times a day. My desire is to show my experience and youth in the UFC”, said Dudu.

Despite leaving, the Brazilian made a point of highlighting that he will always have a special affection for Bellator, as it was the organization that highlighted him and thanked him for the way he was treated.
