The UFC is gaining more fans every day throughout Brazil and this growth is already starting to reach the numbers of football, the most popular sport in the country. During the broadcast of UFC Rio 3, in the early hours of Saturday (13) to Sunday (14), Rede Globo achieved 16 audience points, with 54% participation – total number of televisions switched on at the time.
The numbers become even more expressive when compared to football. On Sunday afternoon, the channel scored the same 16 points when broadcasting the Palmeiras and Náutico game, but with a 35% share.
Each point registered on IBOPE is equivalent to 58.300 TV sets tuned to the station. The data is only from Greater São Paulo, a reference region for the national advertising market.

Rede Globo seems to have understood the importance of the UFC for the market and chose Galvão Bueno, its main narrator, to broadcast the event. By your side, junior gypsy, UFC heavyweight champion, was the commentator for the event.
