The year 2020 is completely out of the ordinary and chaos is also seen in MMA. Several important athletes, such as Jon Jones e Jorge masvidal, entered into a collision course with the UFC and, now, two more names have come into conflict: Conor McGregor e Dustin poirier. After not having one of his wishes fulfilled and also having a request from the organization denied, the first decided to retire. The second did not reach an agreement with the company to face Tony Ferguson and its situation remains undefined.

However, as they don't want to sit still, the duo surprised by announcing a good deed. The Irishman and the American agreed to hold a charity MMA fight in Ireland to help charities. The idea was proposed by the former featherweight (65,8kg) and lightweight (70,3kg) champion, promptly accepted by the former interim lightweight champion and, if everything goes well, it should happen on December 12th.

"Hey brother! Do you want to do a charity MMA fight? Nothing to do with the UFC. I will donate half the amount to your charity. Sell pay-per-view packages or get a TV deal so we can help other charities that are close to my heart too. I'm involved with many. Strictly a charity “exhibition”, proposed McGregor on Twitter.

"Great! Let's talk offline and continue the process from here. You are a good man! I greatly respect your philanthropic efforts, as well as the way you conducted yourself after our first fight. You have my respect!” praised McGregor.

“Respect”, concluded Poirier.

In the last years, Dustin poirier and his wife do a lot of charitable work around the world through the Foundation Good fight. They helped build water wells in Uganda, donated school supplies to schools in Louisiana, the United States, among other things.

Despite the desire and agreement between Conor McGregor and Poirier, the charity fight will only take place if the UFC releases the athletes, as it has an exclusive contract with them. It is worth remembering that the fighters faced each other in 2014 and, on that occasion, they had a heavy trash talk and the Irish star won by knockout in the first round. Since then, 'The Diamond' wanted to settle the score, asking for a rematch at both featherweight and lightweight.
