Derek Brunson challenges Borrachinha after the Brazilian's defeat at UFC 253: 'What are you going to do in December?'

the defeat of Paulo borrachinha No. UFC 253, held last Saturday (26), in Abu Dhabi, cheered the veteran Derek Brunson. Current number seven in the middleweight rankings (under 83,9kg), the North American challenged the Brazilian to a confrontation, aiming for a victory and dreaming of a future title fight.

In addition to shining in the UFC octagon, Israel Adesanya's numbers are also impressive

“Tough break. Borrachinha, what are you going to do on December 12th? Let’s dance”, Brunson wrote on his social networks.

Aware that the Brazilian needs a new challenge to recover from the knockout suffered by the current champion of the division, Derek took advantage of the moment to propose a confrontation to the Minas Gerais native on one of the most anticipated cards of the year: the UFC 256.

After the challenge to Borrachinha, Brunson, who comes from three consecutive victories – the last, in the defeat of the organization's promise, Edmen shahbazyan, in August -, justified his desire to face one of the biggest names in the division.

“I will make this very clear. I made rookie mistakes that cost me big fights. I'm here to reach my maximum. I had every intention of asking for the loser of the title fight (Adesanya or Borrachinha). I need to beat one of the top three to achieve my goals. The time is now”, he concluded.

To propose the fight against the Brazilian, Brunson also made use of a statement made by Borrachinha in 2017, to 'MMA Fighting' when he stated that he would 'erase' the North American in a possible confrontation.

“I’m going to make you famous on my knockout chart”, said the Minas Gerais native at the time.
