Chimaev asks and Dana White confirms promise in main fight against ranked opponent

Undefeated in MMA, the Swede still has no defined opponent and is available to perform at welterweight, middleweight or light heavyweight.

With each passing day the impression is that Khamzat Shimaev grows more and more in MMA. Undefeated, the Swede fell into Dana White's favor and had yet another request granted by the UFC president. After impressing for the third time in the organization, by knocking out Gerald meerschaert in just 17 seconds, in his first fight in the United States, 'Borz' just took another important step in his career.

At the pre-UFC 253, an event that will be held on Saturday (26), in Abu Dhabi, Dana himself confirmed that Chimaev will be present in the main fight, that is, he will compete for five rounds, but the opponent remains undefined. And the stage will not be Fight Island, as imagined, but Las Vegas. The athlete confirmed the information released by the UFC official and made himself available to fight at welterweight (77,6kg), middleweight (83,9kg) or light heavyweight (93kg).

Undefeated in MMA, Khamzat Shimaev He won the nine fights he had in his career via the fast track, six by knockout and three by submission. The athlete, just 26 years old, debuted for the UFC in July 2020, on Ilha da Luta, in Abu Dhabi, and has already competed in three fights for the organization, winning performance bonuses in all appearances. It's worth remembering that, in addition to his achievements, Chimaev's numbers in Dana White's organization are impressive. In the three fights, the athlete was so dominant that he dealt 190 blows and suffered only two.
