Known for being an extremely exciting athlete in MMA, Donald Cerrone is going through the worst phase of his career. Without winning in five fights, the North American rejected the judges' decision, who considered his duel against Niko Price No. UFC Las Vegas 11, held last Saturday. Visibly frustrated, the ‘Cowboy’ opened up about his current situation.

“It was a defeat. That's five in a row. As I didn't achieve the objective, I lost the fight. All training, all week, I felt really good. I expected ‘Cowboy’ to appear and then no. In the first round, it felt like I was watching how many punches I could take before I was knocked out. It was the worst performance I've ever had. I’m disappointed in myself”, said Donald, in a press conference after the show.

Without winning since May last year, Cerrone admitted that he is finding it difficult to find himself psychologically in the sport. The athlete, who became famous for always entertaining fans with great confrontations, said he needs to find himself.

“I have a lot to work on mentally. It has nothing to do with my coaches or training partners. We did everything right. This morning, I felt amazing, but I got here… (sigh). I would like to know the secret”, said the North American.

Even though he is dissatisfied with his recent trajectory in the sport, Cerrone, 37 years old, rules out retirement from the sport. The athlete asked Price for a rematch, but wants to rest until the beginning of next year.

“No (about retiring). I just need to understand what I'm doing wrong. In the fight before Conor (McGregor), I didn't even want to be there. I was just looking for a way to end it. This is not me. I will face Niko again. I said when he's ready to let me know. We'll try to do it in January or February, but if he wants it in December, I have to say I'm ready. I will do everything to win. I’m going to fight for my job, literally,” he signed off.
