Former light heavyweight (up to 93kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) champion, Daniel Cormier know well Stipe Miocic e Jon Jones. With a history of great fights against both, the now former fighter declared that 'Bones' would not be able to knock out the leader of the 120kg category in an eventual fight.

"Jon Jones It won't knock you out, it won't put you to sleep. No matter how much he weighs, Jones doesn't have that much knockout power. He doesn't hit very hard. The kicks are strong, but the punches are not. Stipe knows that if he fights Jones, he will either win by knockout or the fight will go to the judges' decision,” said DC, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Daniel, who faced Jones on two occasions (2015 and 2017) and never managed to beat his former tormentor, however, knows that the North American should do well in the new category. As he is a high-level and dominant athlete throughout his career, Cormier predicts a positive future for his former rival.

“If you have the talent that Jon Jones has, the weight category doesn't matter. He will always be dangerous, for sure. You may love it or hate it, but, that's a fact. Jones will be competitive at middleweight (up to 83,9kg), light heavyweight or heavyweight. At whatever weight he is, Jones will be competitive against anyone. I don't know if his move to heavyweight will be as risky as people are trying to make it out to be. He can fight these guys, because I could. They are big, strong and dangerous. But he can face them”, he concluded.

The best light heavyweight in UFC history, Jones made his move to heavyweight official last month. To do this, the athlete gave up his title and is now dedicating himself to training and gaining muscle mass to face his new opponents.
