Although the phase is not the best, Kelvin Gastelum He has proven, on several occasions, to be one of the toughest athletes in the UFC. Coming from three consecutive defeats, however, the North American decided to reveal who is the toughest opponent he has faced in his career.

“The only guy who managed to take me down was 'Izzy' (Israel adesanya). So, it’s him”, wrote Gastelum, in response to a fan on Twitter.
Kelvin, who faced Adesanya in a real war in UFC 236, in the fight valid for the interim middleweight belt, admitted he was surprised by Israel's physical strength. On that occasion, the Nigerian won the unanimous decision of the judges.
“I didn't expect Israel to be as tough as it is. The level of punishment on both sides would have made several great opponents give up,” Kelvin explained in a conversation with one of his followers.
Considered one of the favorites for the belt just over a year ago, Gastelum is currently ranked 8th in the category led by Adesanya. In his last performance, in July, the North American ended up finishing by Jack hermansson in less than two minutes. Now, the fighter will try to regain his winning path, but he has no fight scheduled.
