The heavy defeat suffered by Aleksandar rakic, UFC Las Vegas 8, held on Saturday (29), in the USA, left Anthony Smith bewildered. The athlete, who fought for the light heavyweight belt (93kg) against Jon Jones, lost to another top-10 player, was frustrated, as he considers the tormentor inferior and justified the defeat, citing the physical difference. According to 'Lionheart', his future in the category is uncertain.

“I never asked for more categories, but in the last two fights, that became clear to me. I'm big for middleweights and small for light heavyweights. They are taller, stronger and longer. It's very frustrating to lose to a fighter I know I can beat. I didn't think I was in danger. The key factor was Rakic’s size and strength,” Smith said after the fight.
Before fighting in the light heavyweight division, the North American played in the middleweight division (84kg) and, even though he didn't have such an impressive time in the division and it was difficult to make weight, he believes that the attempt to return is valid.
"I don't know. Making weight is very difficult. I will have to make a total lifestyle change. It's not just about going into camp and changing your diet, but that's an option. I have to make a decision”, he concluded.
It is worth remembering that, before being defeated by Aleksandar rakic, Anthony Smith had suffered at the hands of Glover Teixeira, in May. His most notable victories in the division were against Alexander Gustafson, Volkan oezdemir, Maurício 'Shogun' and Rashad evans, former champions.
