Ricardo Lamas was one of the great highlights of the UFC Las Vegas 8, event held this Saturday (29). The former featherweight title challenger won again and ended a run of three defeats in his last four fights. And most importantly: the triumph over the debutant Bill Algeo was chosen as 'Fight of the Night'. Each of the fighters received US$50, approximately R$271, in bonuses.

Despite the difference in experience, the veteran had difficulty getting past an opponent who took the fight at the last minute. However, he impressed in the third round and punished him with ground strikes and took the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges.

What's more, the award came to Lamas in the last fight of his career, as the American announced his retirement at the end of the duel.

The 'Performance of the Night' awards went to Sean brady, a promising welterweight who flies below the radar, and Mallory Martin, who survived the first round and won in the second. Each of them also received US$50

Sean brady continues its rise in the division. The prodigy from Renzo Gracie's academy submitted Christian Aguillera in the second round, after dominating in the first. The athlete remains undefeated in MMA and, little by little, begins to change his status in the UFC.

Mallory Martin surprised. After being punished by Hannah Cifers in the first round, the American showed resilience in enduring the punishment, a sense of urgency to not only turn around, but also end the fight, with a fair choke.
