It didn't take long for statements made by Dana White about the Bellator and some of its athletes had repercussions. The president of Ultimate, who had said that the stars of the rival event were released by his franchise, was responded by Corey anderson e Patrick Pitbull. The first, a former UFC fighter who recently arrived at Bellator, denied that he left because he didn't think he was competitive. The Brazilian, featherweight (65,8kg) and lightweight (70,3kg) champion, presented himself in a different way: challenging UFC fighters.

Patrício Pitbull challenges UFC athletes
“Hi, Dana. I'm the one who destroyed the steroid machine, Michael chandler, the one you said deserves a conversation, in 61 seconds. If you send some of your best fighters to Bellator, I can do the same to them. Let's bet just like you did with Pride”, wrote 'Pitbull' on his Twitter.

Corey anderson He left the UFC as a member of the top-5 in the light heavyweight division (93kg) even though he still had fights to fight for the organization. As the relationship was strained by the latter's constant complaints regarding salary and better opportunities, the company chose to facilitate his release and, subsequently, Bellator announced his hiring. Patrício Freire recalled his quick knockout victory against Michael chandler, in May 2019, which made him lightweight champion.
