One of the biggest names in the history of MMA, Anderson Silva it has everything. At 45 years old, the Brazilian legend exudes enthusiasm to resume his career, demands a promise from the UFC and once again insists on a confrontation against Anthony Pettis. With two more fights under his UFC contract, 'Spider' also clarifies the possibility of retirement.

Without acting since May last year, when he ended up defeated by Jared Cannonier in one of the most anticipated fights in the UFC 237, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) is more than eager to put on the organization's gloves again. For his return, the fighter has been insisting on a confrontation against another reference in the sport.

“We are waiting for the fight with Anthony Pettis. Anthony has already spoken out, he agreed to do the fight, he proposed it. I found it super interesting because Anthony has a relevant name in the sport and, at the moment I am in my career, there is no reason to fight someone who doesn't have a name as relevant as Anthony's. Anthony Pettis, a guy who is not as eclectic and as good as him”, said the Brazilian in an interview with 'Esporte Espetacular'.

With more than 23 years of career, Silva understands that he has already achieved a lot in the sport. Eternalized in the history of Ultimate as the best middleweight to have ever worked for the company, Anderson knows his importance and, after years of service, wants big names for the last two fights of his contract. With this in mind, the São Paulo native 'claims' an old promise made by the organization a few years ago.

PUBLICITY:

“They owe me this debt, a super fight is in the contract. Let's hope that happens”, revealed 'Spider'.

Heading towards the end of a successful 'marriage' with the UFC, anyone who thinks that Silva is thinking about leaving the sport immediately is mistaken. Without setting a deadline for hanging up his gloves, the legendary martial artist toyed with the possibility of retirement.

PUBLICITY:

“What keeps me going is being able to get up there and do what I love, have fun. Every time I go up there and fight, I can go back to when I was a kid. I go in there and put myself in a state of total fun. For me it's fun to be there fighting. (…) I don’t have it in mind to stop, no. To the sadness of some and the joy of others, I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I’m fine, okay?”, he concluded.

UFC champion between 2006 and 2013, Anderson now has 45 appearances as a professional in MMA. In total, there are 34 wins, 10 losses and one match without result.
