More than official. After the UFC updated its rankings, Deiveson Figueiredo emerged for the first time as linear champion of the mocas (up to 56,7kg.). The Brazilian had won the position on the 18th by brutalizing Joseph Benavidez in the main fight of UFC Fight Island 2. Until the last few days, however, the man from Pará still did not appear at the head of the group.

Deiveson needed two attempts to confirm himself as category champion. The athlete had already faced – and defeated – the North American in February, in the title fight, but was unable to take the belt because he failed to meet the scales at the official weigh-in for the UFC Norfolk, in the United States.
Almost five months later, the 'God of War' was pitted against Joseph for the final reckoning. In the duel, Figueiredo carried out one of the biggest massacres ever seen in title fights. The Brazilian needed less than five minutes to submit his opponent with a rear naked choke.
Now, Figueiredo awaits his next challenge. Both the athlete and his manager, Wallid Ismail, have already publicly expressed their desire for the new champion to defend his belt in November. The opponent could be number two in the rankings, Brandon Moreno, who asked for a confrontation and was responded positively by the man from Pará.
Former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.), cody garbrandt run outside. The North American has been making public statements provoking the Brazilian and stating that he would move down a division for a possible fight against the champion.
