“I’m prepared for anything he throws at me. We had a lot of time to prepare for this guy. I think it's cool, they don't know what to expect. I'm going to open the toolbox”, said the athlete in an interview with 'BJPenn.com'.
Used to victories, Edmen, just 22 years old, understands the excitement of some fans regarding his trajectory within MMA. The middleweight, however, shows maturity when talking about the steps that must be taken for a possible title fight.
“Honestly, I’m taking one fight at a time. I'm stepping into the Octagon to defeat all the people that are put in front of me. I look at one fight at a time and my goal is to beat Brunson,” he said.
In the fight against Derek, Shahbazyan preferred not to risk a result. The fighter, however, is sure that spectators will see a great confrontation and a great performance.
“I never give predictions about when or how I will end the fight. I'm going to be the best version of myself and I'm prepared for anything. I see this fight taking place with me imposing many techniques that people have never seen. A dominant performance”, he concluded.
Currently, Edmen is in 9th place in the middleweight rankings, while his rival is one place above. This, then, will be the fighter's opportunity to overcome his opponent and continue undefeated towards the top 5.
