UFC 151 was supposed to take place last Saturday (01), but UFC XNUMX's knee injury Dan Henderson and the lack of time to find an opponent to face Jon Jones in the light heavyweight title fight forced the organization to cancel the entire event.
In addition to having the organization's image damaged, the UFC will also have to suffer a huge financial loss. Franchise president Dana White had already revealed spending US$2 million on marketing for the event before the chaos began. But, according to the website MMA Fighting, it is estimated that Ultimate's loss was much greater: around 20 million dollars for his company alone.
But Ultimate wasn't the only one affected by the cancellation. The city of Las Vegas, which would host the event, expected profits from hotels, taxis, nightclubs, casinos and restaurants on the weekend of UFC 151. Cable and satellite TV companies also suffered losses, which could reach up to US$ 7,5 million.
