Cowboy is back. First Brazilian to perform on the main card of the UFC Fight Island 3, held this Saturday (25), in Abu Dhabi, Alex Oliveira had a great fight in the confrontation against Peter sobotta and beat his rival in a unanimous decision by the judges.

The result proved what Alex had been saying in the weeks before the clash. The fighter stated that he had made a drastic change in his lifestyle and was ready to return to performing for Brazilian fans.
The victory over Sobotta marked Cowboy's second consecutive victory after overcoming a bad phase that gave him three setbacks in a row between 2018 and 2019.
The fight
In the first round, Alex began dictating the pace of the fight from the beginning. Betting on kicks from the waist line, the Brazilian started to bother his opponent with attacks throughout the stage.
The second round continued with full pressure from Cowboy. With intense movement, the fighter from Três Rios (RJ) showed great confidence in the confrontation. With specific blows, the Brazilian continued to guarantee the result and shake his opponent.
In the final stage, Oliveira was advised by his coaches to slow down and manage the result. The combatant followed the instructions, but did not flee the confrontation. At the end of the fight, Alex was declared the winner in a unanimous decision.

It wasn't this time that Marina Rodriguez approached the top 5 of straws (up to 52,1kg.). In the confrontation against the former division champion, Carla esparza, the gaucho was unable to put her strategy into play and ended up being the victim of the North American's falls. After three rounds, Esparza was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges.
Carla entered the Octagon with the clear plan of avoiding a stand-up confrontation against Marina. In all rounds, the American didn't accept the frank striking and promoted takedowns on Rodriguez. The new positive result marked Esparza's fourth consecutive victory.
Marina needed to win to get closer to her dream of a title fight. Currently in 9th position in the rankings, the Brazilian will have to wait a little longer to fight for the title.

This Saturday, Khamzat Chiamaev proved once again that he is a name to watch in the welterweight division. After appearing at the UFC Fight Island 1, on the 15th, the Swede took on the challenge of climbing into the octagon ten years later to face rhys mckee. The athlete didn't need much time to settle the bill and won the victory with a knockout in less than four minutes.
This was Chimaev's eighth appearance since his professional MMA debut. At 26 years old, the fighter has shown versatility, alternating triumphs between knockouts and submissions.
This weekend's clash marked Rhys' UFC debut. The 24-year-old athlete was coming off three consecutive victories at Cage Warriors.
