On the 10th, a video recorded at LFA 84 shocked the MMA world. The episode was marked by the illegal blow connected by Shawn West, which led to Boston Salmon being immediately knocked out. Almost two weeks after the incident, Boston released an image of his face and gave an update on his current condition.

“Thank you to everyone who worried about my health. I just want to let you know that I'm fine and taking the necessary steps to recover. Many were worried and so was I. I’m going to get out of this”, wrote the fighter.
According to Boston businessman Brian Butler, West's blow led to a fractured orbital bone and cheekbone. After the incident, the agent, in a statement, asked for disciplinary measures to be taken by the LFA, so that cases like this are avoided in the future.
Shawn's illegal action, in the first minute of the second round, resulted in the victory being given to Salmon by disqualification. The clash marked the debut of both in the Legacy Fighting Alliance.
Before signing a contract with the LFA, Boston was among the UFC athletes. Participant of 'Dana Whites's Contender Series', in July 2017, the American gained a place in Ultimate after defeating Ricky Turcios.
With UFC gloves, however, Salmon was unable to stand out. In his two appearances, the athlete lost by knockout, one to Khalid Taha and the other for Randy Costa, both last year.
