In recent months, Masvidal has been immersed in a public financial war with the UFC. The athlete questioned the amounts paid for his performances and refused to fight for the established values. After finding replace Gilbert Durinho No. UFC 251, the situation was resolved. In this way, 'Jesus das Ruas' explains that the financial side is no longer a problem and that his focus, therefore, is focused on winning the belt in his division.

“You could even say that a fight against McGregor would bring in I don’t know how many dollars – the biggest pay-per-view in history, right? – and I would win a lot. I think I earn enough now. If I make the right decisions like I have done so far, I will have money forever. So, it's not about the money. I’m stubborn and I want that belt”, he explained.

Having presented himself against one of the current big names in Ultimate with little preparation time, Masvidal believes that, with an adequate period of training, he would be able to shock the world and become the new champion. Thus, the North American insisted that the UFC promote a repeat of the clash on the 11th.

“I want to prove that I am better than Usman. I want to fight him again. I know he won the first one. Let’s do it again,” he concluded.
