UFC 151 was canceled in an unprecedented way, last Thursday (23), due to injury to Dan Henderson and the lack of opponents to face Jon Jones for the organization's light heavyweight belt. The only fighter who agreed to face Jones with just eight days to go before the fight was the controversial Chael Sonnen, but unexpectedly, the champion rejected the duel and forced the organization to cancel the entire fight program.

At the announcement press conference, Dana White, president of the UFC, did not hide his disappointment with Jones for not accepting the fight against Chael and stated that his attitude had never happened at the event.

“Carrying the cross for my company’s decision. If someone has to take the blame, I accept full responsibility for the way UFC 151 was cancelled. I want to sincerely apologize to all the other athletes/fans whose time and money was wasted. I feel terrible about the way this was resolved,” Jones wrote in a series of posts.
