the controversial Chael Sonnen gave a truce a Anderson Silva, but he has already chosen his new rival for verbal warfare. The North American, who returns to the light heavyweight division in December (remember here), turned his attacks towards his compatriot Jon Jones, current owner of the belt in his new category.

Sonnen, who came to exchange some barbs with Jones on Twitter last week, it once again used microblogging in an innovative way. Chael replicated complimentary messages written to him by Jones on the social network, but the champion never published this content. In the text, Jones says that he would rather abandon the light heavyweight title and move to heavyweight than face Sonnen.

“I’m watching videos of Sonnen. I would rather leave my title and escape to the heavyweights than fight that guy”, wrote Chael, attributing the false message to the champion, who, according to the messages, had called the loudmouth “the best of all time”.
“Why would I face him, Sonnen? It's a make or break situation for me. I would lose my title and lose my life”, continued Chael in his posts, remembering Jones’ recent statements about a possible rematch against Lyoto Machida, when he showed disinterest in the fight.
