This isn't McGregor's first show of affection when it comes to Khabib's family. The Irishman had already estimated Abdulmanap's improvements when he learned that his rival's father was in serious condition in a hospital in Moscow (RUS).

The rivalry between Conor and Khabib took on global proportions in 2018, when the athletes were scheduled to fight for the category's belt. The meeting between the two took place in October of that year and marked the most watched spectacle in the history of the sport.
