Covid-19 takes two more Brazilians out of fighting on 'Ilha da Luta'

After confirming that Anderson Berinja was removed from the card, Vinícius Mamute and Marina Rodriguez were also cut; fighter, however, left the show after a coach was diagnosed with the disease

Brazil will have two more absences for the marathon of events taking place on 'Ilha da Luta', in Abu Dhabi, starting on July 11th. After the withdrawal of Anderson Berinja, who tested positive for Covid-19, Vinícius Mamute and Marina Rodriguez They were also removed from the July 15 card due to illness. Marina, however, was removed as a precaution, as one of her coaches was diagnosed with coronavirus. The information was released by 'MMA Fighting'.

On July 15, Vinícius would have his fourth fight since his debut in Ultimate. Discovered by 'Dana White's Contender Series', the Brazilian native would travel to Abu Dhabi with the obligation to win Modest Bukauskas to achieve his first victory since his debut with the company.

It has not yet been announced whether Modestas will have a new opponent or whether he will appear at a future date.

Rodriguez had an important commitment in his next dispute. The fighter would face Carla esparza in the confrontation that, if she wins, would bring her very close to the top 5 strawweights (up to 52,1kg) in the UFC. To date, Marina remains undefeated in her MMA career, with 12 fights, 10 wins and two draws.

Just like Berinja and Vinícius' opponent, it is unknown whether Esparza will remain in the show.
