Brazilian MMA suffered a downturn this week. Fighter Henrique Negão was murdered last Saturday night (18) as he left a funk party in the city of Nova Iguaçu, in Rio de Janeiro. According to witnesses, Negão was trying to break up a fight at the door of the nightclub and was shot in the face.

Negão, who was just 27 years old, was a member of Team Nogueira, the brothers' team Rodrigo Minotauro e Rogério Minotouro. Henrique was also a teammate of other great names such as Anderson Silva, junior gypsy e Ronaldo Jacare.

The fighter had stints in events such as Jungle Fight and MMA Against Dengue. In his last fight, held in March, Negão defeated Gustavo Wurlitzer by submission.
