After defeat to Dustin Poirier, Dan Hooker suggests fighting Charles do Bronx

Current number five in the lightweight rankings, the New Zealander proposes a fight against the Brazilian, but also sets his sights on Tony Ferguson

After being defeated by Dustin poirier in one of the best fights of 2020 last Saturday (27), Dan Hooker He doesn't want to rest and is already targeting his next commitment in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). Current number five in the category ranking, the New Zealander proposed a challenge against Charles of the Bronx (6th in the group) or against the former interim champion, Tony Ferguson. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the athlete spoke about the possibility.

“I have my eyes on who I want to fight in the next fight and it could be Tony (Ferguson) or (Charles) Oliveira (from the Bronx). I think one of these fights could main event another event. But Oliveira continues to challenge Poirier and ask for a fight against Conor (McGregor) and has been beating around the bush,” said Hooker.

Right after the UFC Las Vegas 4, the Brazilian made a post on his social networks questioning why he is not selected to face one of the athletes who lead the category.

Charles last performed in March of this year, at UFC Brasilia, when he defeated, by submission, Kevin Lee and further consolidated itself in the group's top 10.
