The warm fight between Curtis blaydes e Alexander Volkov in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 3, held this Saturday (20), negatively caught the attention of Ultimate's president, Dana White. Disappointed with the North American's performance, who won in a unanimous decision by the judges, the 'big boss' stated that, despite the triumph, the athlete must improve if he wants to compete for the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg) in the future.

“Firstly, he (Blaydes) has two defeats to Francis (Ngannou, in 2016 and 2018). How do you give him a title shot before Francis? He might be considered next in line, but with tonight's performance and his cardio, I wouldn't wait. I would be active, busy”, said the president in a press conference after the show.

Currently, Curtis occupies third place in the division rankings, behind only Francis Ngannou (2nd), from the former champion, Daniel Cormier (1st) and the owner of the belt, Stipe Miocic. This weekend, the North American reached the mark of 17 fights as a professional in MMA and his 12th wearing UFC gloves.

In the confrontation against Volkov, Curtis unquestionably dominated his rival, however, he did not have a standout performance, as he showed strong signs of fatigue and was almost surprised by his opponent's actions in the fourth and fifth rounds.

Currently 29 years old, Blaydes has 14 career victories, one fight without result and only two defeats. Both suffered in duels against Francis Ngannou.
