UFC 150: In a great battle, Ben Henderson defeats Frankie Edgar and defends his belt

Promise made, promise kept. Ben henderson e Frankie Edgar stated that they would have a big rematch at UFC 150, an event held this Saturday (11), in Denver, in the United States, in the fight for the lightweight belt. And at the end of 25 minutes of an intense battle, and yet another controversial decision from the judges, Bendo defended the category belt for the first time.

At UFC 144, Ben henderson took the lightweight belt from Frankie Edgar in a very tight dispute, which is precisely why the former champion won the right to a rematch. And the story of the first confrontation was repeated at UFC 150, with emotions, provocations and alternation in control of the fight.

The champion started better, using his greater wingspan to hit the challenger with low kicks. In turn, Edgar tried to use his already known speed to hit the opponent and get out of range.

In the second round, it was Edgar's turn to take control of the dispute, when he knocked Henderson off balance with a punch and pinned his opponent against the bars, trying to strangle him.

The balance remained in the following rounds, with alternations in control of the dispute. At the end of the fourth round, Ben even let his guard down and opened his arms, calling Frankie for a frank exchange.

In the last round, with better physical preparation, Frankie managed to impose his game again and managed to take down the champion on two occasions, but Edgar was unable to work on his ground game.

At the end of 25 minutes of an intense dispute, victory for Ben henderson in the judges' split decision (48×47, 46×49, 48×47). The decision angered Frankie Edgar, who even threw his cap on the ground, and part of the audience at the Pepsi Arena, in Denver.

Cerrone knocks out Guillard
In the second most important fight of the night, Donald Cerrone He suffered a scare at the beginning against Melvin Guillard, but managed to recover and score his second consecutive victory in the organization, once again being considered a possible challenger for the belt.

In the first movements, Guillard surprised “Cowboy”, as Donald is known, with a cross, which made the fighter lose his balance. However, Cerrone managed to stay on his feet in the dispute and with the first blow landed squarely, he ended the dispute in a sensational way.

PUBLICITY:

With a high kick, which hit Melvin's temple, Donald made his opponent bend his knee and with another direct shot he knocked Guillard out.
