End of the mystery! The UFC's famous 'Fight Island' had its location announced by the organization this Tuesday (09). The venue for the events will be Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi. In the country of the United Arab Emirates, Ultimate will hold four events in June, including the UFC 251 and three shows from the Fight Night series.

The 'Ilha da Luta' program will begin with the UFC 251, June 11th, and continues with cards being held at Wednesday, the 15th; Saturday, the 18th; and Saturday, the 25th.
To accommodate existing public health guidelines, DCT Abu Dhabi will create a safety zone of approximately 25 km2 within Yas Island which includes arena, hotel, training facilities and restaurants. This security zone will only be open to UFC athletes and their coaches, UFC staff and event staff, and Yas Island employees who are necessary to ensure the operation of the venue.

Thanks to your commitment and cooperation, we are proud to announce that Abu Dhabi will host the first “Fight Island” in history, marking the UFC’s long-awaited return to the world stage.”, said His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of DCT Abu Dhabi.
“We work alongside government entities in Abu Dhabi to ensure that the staging of this historic event meets the highest safety standards for athletes, coaches, the entire UFC team and our community. This year, Abu Dhabi has successfully proven its ability to deal with all challenges and promote the well-being of its visitors and residents. Today, we are here to showcase the best that our capital has to offer, as we eagerly await opening our doors once again to the world,” he added.
Dana White celebrates Fight Island
“We had the idea of having fights on a “Fight Island” because we needed a destination to host international events during the pandemic. Abu Dhabi has been an incredible venue for events over the last ten years and is the perfect place for these shows. The infrastructure we are building will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fighters – from the arena and training facilities to the Octagon on the island. It will be an experience that none of us will forget. I can’t wait to put on incredible fights on Yas Island.”, declared UFC President Dana White.
Return to Abu Dhabi after UFC 242
In 2019, UFC and DCT Abu Dhabi entered into an innovative five-year partnership to bring UFC to the Emirate. UFC 242: Khabib x Poirier, the first event held within the new partnership, attracted more than 14.000 fans to Yas Island in September last year. The agreement to bring UFC FIGHT ISLAND to Abu Dhabi is an expansion of the original five-year partnership between UFC and DCT Abu Dhabi.
