Veteran Tim Sylvia will be the opponent of Daniel Cormier at Strikeforce on September 29, in Sacramento, California.
The fight should be Cormier's last in Strikeforce, who will soon move to the UFC. The organization has already announced the extinction of the heavyweight category and many fighters have already migrated to the UFC. However, there is an agreement with the American channel “Showtime” so that the GP champion, in this case Cormier, would have at least one more fight for Strikeforce after the end of the tournament.
In turn, Sylvia, who has a record of 31 wins and seven losses, is trying to rediscover a good streak of victories to return to the UFC. The American, who is a former UFC heavyweight champion, has won three consecutive victories, the last being over Randy Smith.
