After being fired from the UFC in 2011, Nate Marquardt turned things around last Saturday. In his first fight as a welterweight, the American won the Strikeforce category belt by knocking out the previously undefeated Tyron woodley.

After the triumph, which was the 32nd of his career, Marquardt, exaggerated his excitement and said he was the best welterweight today.
“I feel great. He was a very tough opponent and that's why we fought for the belt. But, I came prepared”, said Nate, who has already challenged for the UFC middleweight belt and has important victories over names like Martin Kampmann, Rousimar Toquinho e Demian Maia. “I feel like this is my moment. I'm one of the best in the world. In fact, I feel like I’m the best in the world,” he added.
