The most well-known and respected MMA referee in the world, “Big” John McCarthy, is expected to announce his retirement at the end of this week.
Big John must wait for the end of the edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, on the 08th and announce his departure from the octagon.
McCarthy refereed more than 500 fights from UFC-2 in 1994 to edition number 78 last month.
Big John, who was a police officer in Los Angeles in the 80s, has a black belt in jiu-jitsu and has his own gym in Valencia, California, called Big John McCarthy's Ultimate Training Academy.
