Even though he was forced to leave the bantamweight belt fight (up to 61,2kg.) against Henry Cejudo, José Aldo continue with morale with the current champion. According to the North American's businessman, Ali Abdelaziz, replacing Manauara with Dominick Cruz did not exclude the possibility of the former number one featherweight (up to 65,7kg) facing his client in the future.

“Cejudo’s next opponent (after facing Dominick) will be José Aldo. Not any of the other athletes in the category. (Henry) has already spoken to the UFC, but I understand that Aldo is having problems traveling or having issues with his American work visa. I don't know. But how are you going to say 'no' to Aldo? The guy is one of the best athletes in the lighter divisions we’ve ever seen,” said Ali.

Initially, the 'People's Champion' was scheduled to face Cejudo in the main fight of the UFC 250, which would take place in São Paulo, on May 9th. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state government ended up using the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, which would host the show, as a hospital base for victims of COVID-19. The show, then, must be transferred to the United States.

As his work visa for the country has expired, Aldo would be unable to fight there, as the North American embassy is not updating documents during the global health crisis.

Even before Aldo was cut from the card, Cejudo was already 'flirting' with Cruz, who is considered one of the best bantamweights in the history of Ultimate. Since becoming UFC champion, Henry has stated that his greatest desire is to face and defeat MMA legends.
