In an impeccable performance, the North American Chris Weidman knocked out the Filipino Mark Munoz in the second round and applied to be the next challenger for the Anderson Silva. The fight was the main attraction of UFC on FUEL 4, an event held on Wednesday night (11), in San Jose, California.

The show's fight program was still good for the Brazilians in action. Rafael dos Anjos defeated Anthony Njokuani, Marcelo Guimaraes debuted in the UFC with a victory over Dan Stittgen and Raphael Assunção opened the fight program by beating the Japanese Issei Tamura. The only Brazilian setback was Rafael Sapo, who ended up being knocked out by Andrew Craig.

Weidman surprises Munoz and wants a title shot
Mark Munoz entered the main fight of UFC on FUEL 4 needing just one victory for the chance to face Mark Munoz for the organization's middleweight belt. But what we saw in the octagon was an underdog show Chris Weidman.

The North American started better and soon took down Munoz, who specializes in wrestling, and began punishing the ground fight, mixing powerful punches and elbows with submission attempts. Mark still tried to get up on two occasions, but he was always pressured at these moments.

In the second round, history repeated itself and once again Weidman defeated Munoz, who this time managed to get up and start the fight with striking. However, when trying a right cross, Muñoz was elbowed and was knocked down.

On the ground, Weidman began the punishment and forced referee Josh Rosenthal to stop the fight and declare a technical knockout.

Rafael dos Anjos beats Anthony Njokuani
With the responsibility of opening the main card, the Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos he did not meet Anthony Njokuani and defeated the Nigerian in a unanimous decision by the judges.

Even though Njokuani specializes in striking, Rafael showed that training in Thailand did him a lot of good and put good pressure on his opponent in the stand-up fight. With a straight right, the Brazilian unbalanced his opponent and started to press Anthony against the bars and, soon after, take down his opponent.

In the second round, Rafael again controlled the fight with his striking and then took down the Nigerian, but this time Njokuani managed to get up. Totally dominated, the African only defended himself from the Brazilian's attacks.

Frog is surprised by Craig
The only Brazilian defeat in UFC on FUEL 4 was Rafael Sapo, who started the fight against Andrew Craig very well. The athlete from Minas Gerais, whose specialty is jiu-jitsu, has shown progress in his striking. Quite at ease, Sapo connected with good punches and at several moments let his guard down, calling on the North American to exchange blows.

After winning the first round, Sapo had his best moment in the second round, when he landed a spectacular sequence of punches on Craig, which resulted in a knockdown. The punishment continued on the ground, where the Brazilian reached mount and applied several blows from above.

But, showing a lot of determination, Andrew managed to recover and in a spectacular blow he managed to get the knockout. The North American launched a powerful high kick at Rafael, who already fell semi-knocked out. Without wasting time, Craig threw several punches from above until the Brazilian was unable to defend himself.
