The heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg.) is not at stake as long as Stipe Miocic regained his position as champion in the rematch against Daniel Cormier, in August last year. Thinking about moving the category, Jairzinho Rozenstruik suggested that his long-awaited clash against Francis Ngannou be valid for the division's interim belt.

“What’s better for a big fight than a belt involved? It's already a big challenge and, if you give it a title, our meeting will be more interesting. For now, everything remains the same. It's a fight. I'm very excited and, when the moment comes, I'll be in my best shape”, said the Surinamese in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.
Considered one of the most exciting and dangerous categories in MMA, the heavyweight division has already revealed big names in mixed martial arts. With this in mind, Rozenstruik believes that the title cannot remain undisputed for so long.
“I think the heavyweight division needs this. (The hiatus) ends up slowing things down with the fight (trilogy) between Stipe and Cormier. We don't know when the champion will return. So for now, promote an interim belt. The category needs to move forward”, concluded Jairzinho.
Before the situation experienced due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Ultimate was negotiating the trilogy between Miocic and Daniel. The global health crisis, however, ended up pausing conversations between athletes.
Last Tuesday (14), 'MMA Fighting' announced that Ultimate intends to resume its activities on May 9, with a card that will feature three title fights. According to the North American website, the fight between Francis and Rozenstruik could take place on the card, which does not yet have a defined location.
