Sonnen was responsible for Anderson Silva not be fined by the Nevada Athletic Commission, the entity that sanctioned the fight, for the shoulder thrown at his rival during the weigh-in, on Friday (06).

The information was confirmed by the Commission's executive director, Keith Kizer, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie.

“I spoke to Sonnen, who was the injured party, and asked him what his level of outrage was. And he was very tolerant,” Kizer said. “Sonnen said he was not angry with Anderson and that he had forgiven him. He was not sure if the shoulder was premeditated and that there were no problems”, added the director.

Kizer also stated that Sonnen asked him so that Anderson would not be fined by the Athletic Commission. “If you want to make a small fine, that’s fine, but I wouldn’t do any kind of fine.”
