Earlier this week, Tony Ferguson surprised fans by announcing that he will make weight on Friday (17), despite having his commitment in UFC 249 canceled. After questioning whether your opponent stops the card, Justin gaethje, would do the same, 'Bicho Papão' ended up receiving a negative response from his opponent.

"Justin gaethje, will you make weight on Friday?”, wrote 'El Cucuy' on his Twitter account.
Called at the last minute to replace the lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Khabib Nurmagomedov, Gaethje then stated that he would not make the weight cut stage, as the show was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“You got a good start, mate. I accepted the fight with 20 days remaining. I’m not going to make weight”, replied Justin.
U had quite the head start there buddy. I took it on 20 days ffs. I will not be making weight lol.

When he accepted the challenge of fighting against one of the best athletes in recent lightweight history, Justin knew he would step into the Octagon to fulfill a big dream: fight for an Ultimate belt.
The athletes, however, would face each other for the interim title, as the linear title would continue to belong to Khabib Nurmagomedov, arrested in Russia after the country's borders were closed due to border closures.
With no plans to return to activities, the organization's management did not say whether the confrontation between Ferguson and Gaethje will remain on when the health crisis situation improves.
