It won't be this time that José Aldo will have the opportunity to regain his status as Ultimate champion. With an expired work visa for the United States, Brazilians are unable to travel to the country in UFC 250, since, in times of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the North American embassy is not issuing new documents. The favorite to take on the challenge Henry Cejudo for the title of roosters (up to 61,2kg.) is Dominick Cruz. The information was released by 'Combate'.

O UFC 250, initially, it would take place at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, in São Paulo. However, the information that the place was given to the government as a hospital base for victims of COVID-19, together with the preventive measures adopted that prohibit the holding of public events, meant that Ultimate needed to transfer the show to the United States.
Last week, Cejudo had already signaled the possibility of Aldo not being able to participate in the card. The champion then challenged the former number one in the category, Dominick Cruz, so that it would be ready for a replacement. Cruz immediately accepted the invitation and expressed interest in trying to regain his old position.
According to information, the man from Manaus has already interrupted his training and will now need to wait until his situation with his work visa is regularized so that he can return to work in North American territory.
On his social networks, Dominick has already stated that he was contacted to take Aldo's place in the main fight. The athlete provoked Cejudo and said he was ready for the commitment.
“The real king has already been informed that we will fight on May 9th. I'll see you there. Note: Bring your other little friend, Eric Albarracin, so I can slap them both,” Cruz wrote on his Twitter account.

Without a defined location, the UFC 250 it will represent Cejudo's first title defense in Ultimate. The athlete became bantamweight champion last year, when he beat Marlon moraes and took the place left vacant by TJ Dillashaw.
Without fighting since December 2016, Dominick will now have the opportunity to reoccupy the position he held for six years.
