Nikita Krylov dominates Johnny Walker, wins decision and defeats Brazilian at UFC Brasília

Ukrainian gets his strategy right and defeats light heavyweight in a unanimous decision by the judges

It wasn't this time that fans of Johnny Walker they went back to see a Brazilian show. In the confrontation against Nikita Krylov, held this Saturday (14), by UFC Brasilia, the fighter from Belford Roxo (RJ) ended up being easy prey for the Ukrainian's ground fight, who dominated the light heavyweight (up to 93kg) for three rounds and was declared the winner in the judges' decision.

The fight against Krylov meant a fresh start for Walker, who was coming off a tough setback to Corey anderson in November last year, in UFC 244. The Brazilian, who impressed in his first three appearances in the company with meteoric knockouts, quickly became a big name in the category, but was unable to repeat his good performances in his last two clashes.

With the setback, the Brazilian suffers his second consecutive defeat and should fall in the ranking of the division dominated by Jon Jones.

The fight

The fight began with the athletes going into a frank fight. Nikita bet on grappling and tried to put the Brazilian on the ground. Walker tried to get away from his opponent, but the Ukrainian continued to cling to Johnny. The Brazilian managed to land elbows on his opponent's head until he was knocked down. Walker tried to get up, but Krylov continued his strategy. The fight continued to be fought on the ground with an advantage for the Ukrainian. The Brazilian managed to get up and landed a good elbow on Nikita's face. Krylov responded with a series of punches to the Brazilian's face, who walked back and was knocked down again. The round ended with Nikita punching Johnny from top to bottom.

Nikita had the advantage, while Johnny tried to get up. Walker continued to be hit on the ground and showed difficulties against the Ukrainian. In the final minute, the Brazilian's breathing was already very labored, but the athlete managed to reverse the position and stay on top. Johnny managed to get to his back and was landing good punches on his opponent, who was protecting himself, but there was no more time.

The last round began with the athletes moving around the center of the octagon. Visibly tired, the Brazilian ended up hit by a front kick from the Ukrainian, who pressed Walker against the fence, but ended up being knocked down. Johnny got the mount, but ended up suffering Nikita's transition. The Ukrainian was on top, while the Brazilian threw elbows, but without much effect. Krylov continued to keep Walker on the ground and land some blows until the timer ran to zero.

The Brazilian Francisco Massaranduba confirmed the good phase in the UFC. In a duel against John makdessi, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) managed to show his superiority and put his rival in danger for three rounds. At the end of the confrontation, the athlete was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.

During the battle, Francisco was frustrated by the fact that his opponent did not accept open combat. The Brasilia native walked forward throughout the confrontation and managed to land good blows on his rival. The athlete, at the end of the presentation, said he did not understand the fact that Makdessi had 'run away' from the fight.

With the triumph, the Brazilian reached his second consecutive victory and the 25th in his professional MMA career.
