Joanna Jedrzejczyk to undergo facial surgery after injuries at UFC 248

The marks of the battle carried out between Weili Zhang e Joanna Jedrzejczyk, which took place last Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA), at UFC 248, are still present in Polish. After being defeated by the Chinese in the strawweight belt fight (up to 52,1kg), the challenger, who left the octagon with a disfigured face, will undergo a surgical procedure to correct the consequences suffered in the fight. In an interview with 'TMZ Sports', the fighter spoke about the situation.

“I booked surgery in Poland with the best plastic surgeon, so everything is fine. On Monday I will have a small medical procedure on my ear and the swelling will go down and I will be ready to go back,” said Joanna.

Although the image of Jedrzejczyk after the fight against Zhang was initially frightening, the athlete guarantees that there were no serious injuries as a result of the multiple blows suffered during the fight. The strawweight then tries to reassure fans about his current state of health.

“My whole face is bruised, but there is no swelling on my head anymore. It's more on my face and neck. It’s getting lower, but it’s much better”, said the Polish woman.

Known for the aggressiveness with which she approaches her commitments, Joanna guarantees that she will soon be ready to return to the octagon. The former division champion then signaled what the company's next step should be and did not rule out a rematch against the Chinese.

“I want to fight the best. If it's the next step, yes, of course, why not? Let's rock again. Let’s dance again, fight for the belt”, she concluded.
